Marinade for Venison or Beef
Ingredients
- 1/2 c honey
- 1/2 c vegetable oil
- 1/3 c low sodium soy sauce
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 t sp ground chili (cayenne or ancho)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Directions
Marinades go a long way in helping to tenderize leaner meats like venison or larger, tougher cuts of beef. They add moisture into meat that can get too dry when cooked, as well as adding additional flavor profiles.
1. Combine all of the ingredients into a bowl and mix well. Alternatively, you can add to a mason jar and shake vigorously to combine ingredients.
The marinade can be stored in the refrigerator for several weeks.
2. There are a few ways to use the marinade:
- Add whatever protein you are marinating to a plastic bag or container, toss with marinade and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.
- For larger or tougher cuts, you can inject marinade into meat before cooking.
