  • 6 tomatoes cut into quarters
  • 4 basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves

Directions

Once you make this homemade soup, you'll never eat tomato soup out of a can again!

  1. Use a Weston Tomato Strainer to puree the quartered tomatoes.
  2. Transfer the puree to a pot and sprinkle in remaining ingredients, except the flour. Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Whisk in the flour then bring to a slow simmer on low for an hour with stirring occasionally.
  3. Pour the soup through the Cone Strainer to strain out the basil leaves and any lumps from the flour. Serve immediately, while hot!
