Homemade Tomato Soup
Ingredients
Serves 2
- 6 tomatoes cut into quarters
- 4 basil leaves
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
Directions
Once you make this homemade soup, you'll never eat tomato soup out of a can again!
- Use a Weston Tomato Strainer to puree the quartered tomatoes.
- Transfer the puree to a pot and sprinkle in remaining ingredients, except the flour. Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Whisk in the flour then bring to a slow simmer on low for an hour with stirring occasionally.
- Pour the soup through the Cone Strainer to strain out the basil leaves and any lumps from the flour. Serve immediately, while hot!
